A very affordable device will contain apart from default phone features extras like: Video display, Audio capabilities, a decent camera, extra networking abilities such as WIFI, Internet browsing, Web service consumption and the list goes on...
Even after all these impressive achievements the industry failed to achieve standardization, it actually getting worst with every vendor that wants a piece of the action a new standard is invented which makes the technology fragmented and hard to maintain.
The situation is worst in the area of content management. The HTML suffers from the same fragmentation since each device has a different way of translating requested pages, making text rendering and image previewing problematic. The audio and video are in a worst condition, each group of devices can decode different file types and some devices can store media while some can only stream it.
What Tiresias got to offer is a cross platform content management technology that seamlessly will overcome these obstacles and generate content for a wide range of devices. Tiresias takes into consideration the limitations of the underlying device that uses it to view content and will manipulate the device resources to its maximum. Decisions like selecting which device can use which media type, text formatting, picture sizing and format will be solved leaving the content provider only with the task of generating it.
